About Us

That Baby DVD and That Baby CD are products of OyBaby, LLC, a company founded and run by Rob and Lisi Wolf of Mercer Island, Washington. The company creates DVDs and CDs designed to delight kids and the grownups who love them.

COMPANY HISTORY

The company started in 2003 with the release of its OyBaby-branded products. OyBaby was the first and only DVD and CD series created especially for Jewish babies and kids. A second volume, OyBaby 2, was released in 2005. To date, 25,000 OyBaby products have been sold to families in 48 states and 12 countries. That Baby DVD and That Baby CD are the company's first non-religious products.

In early 2007, encouraged by non-Jewish friends that loved the OyBaby products, the Wolfs decided to create a product that could be enjoyed by all kids. Turning to the music and musicians they enjoyed growing up, Rob and Lisi brainstormed a list of about 30 songs, 14 of which would ultimately recorded for That Baby DVD and That Baby CD.

Rob filmed, edited, and animated That Baby DVD. He designed the packaging and website as well. He holds a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Lisi is a freelance photographer and full-time mom who contributes to the business creatively behind the scenes and works with Rob on marketing, distribution, public relations, and operations for the business. She holds a BA from the University of Washington.

The Wolfs worked with longtime friend and singer/songwriter Stephanie Schneiderman to create the music for all three of the company's projects (OyBaby, OyBaby 2, and That Baby DVD / That Baby CD). Stephanie is an accomplished singer/songwriter that records and tours extensively as a solo artist and with her band, Dirty Martini. She performed at the Lilith Fair concert tour in Portland, has songs featured on the WB, receives radio airplay around the country, and has opened for acts like Chris Isaak and Aimee Mann. For more on Stephanie's music, check out www.stephanieschneiderman.com.

Stephanie produced and arranged the songs on each release. She sings on most of the tracks and is joined on some by her sisters, Lisa Schneiderman and Kim Palumbis. Other tracks on That Baby DVD / That Baby CD feature musicians that, like Stephanie, are active in the thriving Portland music scene.

“We don’t think of the music we create as ‘children’s music,’” says Rob. “We aim to create music that the whole family can enjoy, including children. Kids today are fully capable of rocking out, and parents want music that they can enjoy too as they drive the minivan around town or prepare dinner. Coupled with visuals that are colorful, varied, and unconventional, our products are a welcome change from the ordinary in kids’ entertainment.”
